Exchage 5.5 Mailbox Resources problem

By paul.hw.law ·
I have created some email accounts in Exchage 5.5 SP3 without creating NT account. After I deleted these accounts in Exch. Admin., they are gone in recipents list. But there still have an entry in Mailbox Resources and showing that some of them are occupling spaces. I have try using raw mode, but there are no option to remove them. There are only one Exchange Server in the network. Can anybody help? Thanks

Exchage 5.5 Mailbox Resources problem

You need to run the is/ds consistency checker,
in exchange administrator goto the configuration->servers->Yourservername click properties, select the advanced tab, at the bottom is the IS/DS consistencey checker click on it, select the two boxes for mailboxes, create entries and remove unknown users, down at the bottom select all inconsistencies. Click okay to the warning about public folders (we didn't select any of the public folder options so this is moot)
while this is running look in the event log->application to see that the mailbox entries were recreated in the directory. You may have to run this a couple of times. I know I have. Once you see the mailboxes listed in the directory, you should be able to delete them. After deleting them, run the knowledge consistency checker. Go back to the place we started, instead of click properties, in the right pane click on directory service, click properties, click on the consistency checker. This should clean up the anomalies.

Hope this helps.
