We currently have a Windows 2000 Server (SP2) which also runs Terminal Services. We have a separate Windows 2000 server which is used for authentication. We are thinking about installing Exchange 2000 on the same server that runs Terminal Services. We are well aware of the possible perfomance issues in doing this, but we are presently barely making a dent in our current memory, hard drive, and processor resources. We do NOT have Active Directory services installed and we know this is required for Exchange 2000. We have done hours of research and have NOT found anything from Microsoft stating that is cannot be done.
QUESTION 1 : What issues can we expect if we install Exchange 2000 ( and Active Directory) on the same server running Terminal Services?? Any input, Q Articles, or experiences would be great apprciated, thanks.
QUESTION 2 : If we can install Exchange 2000 with Active Directory, can we then also use it as a authentication server or backup authentication server aswell? . . . Again, keeping Terminal Services in mind.
