I have read just about everything I can but cannot seem to get exchange 2000 to be able to see the 5.5 server. I built a test lab with an active directory and exchange 2000 and a test user. I them built a PDC and exchange 5.5 server and test user. I populated the 5.5 with mail and public folders. Now I ran the ADC on the AD withthe exchange disk. I need to make the connection work to migrate the mail from 5.5 to 2000. When I ran a connector on 5.5 the computer could not find the 2000 server I can ping all. It (5.5) gives me an error that says ID DS_E_communications problem. They are both on the same network now. Is there anyone who could give me guidence to connecting these 2 to be able to migrate mail. There is no instructions (clear cut) on how this works. I have a new 2000 infrastructure and want to move 5.5 mail to the new 2000 exchange. I can’t make the connection. Is it connectors or DNS. It shouldn’t be DNS as I can ping by name and IP. Do I need to run a connection agreement,I was told don’t do that. I am now lost.
