Exchange 2000 User Name Change

By joeloeffler ·
I need to change a users name and e-mail account due to marriage. Any documentation or experience in migrating would be helpful.

Changing the name

by rob In reply to Exchange 2000 User Name C ...

Just go into Active directory users & Computers. Right click on the user and select rename, fill in the info. Then go to properties of that user and pick the E-Mail address tab. Click on new and add their new SMTP address, then set it to primary. I leave their old email address there. That way if someone is still sending to that address they'll get the email. When they reply it'll be with the new primary email address.

Hope this helps

Hi Joe,

Why don't you do the required changes.
Start-->programs-->active directory users and computers

browse to the user click properties and make the changes in the required fields
simple
besides you can save her mails in a local pst and reconfigure (delete and create new) and restore the Pst

Contact for any further assistance
