Exchange 2000 with diffrenet domain name

By salehd ·
My question about Exchange 2000 server, but I will explained my network.
We have an windows 2000 domain named domainA which is not registered.
On another network named domainB which is registered we have exchange 2000 server.
The e-mails for users in domainA are on exchange server on domainB (user@domainB)
I need to setup exchange server 2000 in domainA and move the users e-mail to exchange server 2000 in domainB but without changing the user e-mail. It must remain as user@domainB.
How can I do this?
Thanks

Your easiest bet would be to get the NetIQ: Exchange Migrator software.

You can learn more about it here:
http://www.netiq.com/products/em/default.asp

If you don't want to spend the money for the Migration software, try this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;812453&Product=exch2k

You can create alias's for each user to keep the old user@domainB, and setup the DomainA Exchange Servers Default SMTP Virtual Server to use www.domainB.com. This way, the DomainA Exchange server will accept messages sent to www.domainB.com.

Hope this helps.
