Exchange 2007 - Address Books for Particular Groups of Users

By james ·
Hello.

We have our Exchange 2007 server setup and running well.

What I would like to do is have a new address book that only Department A can see. Department B will not be able to see this address book or its contents.

Is this possible?

I have used the link below to create hosted mailboxes for multiple companies. Part of it addresses the separation of Address Lists. Basically you remove permissions to the GAL, make new lists that have membership based on a custom attribute, and use ADModify to assign all members of an OU to one of those Address Lists. The same should work for departments instead of companies.
