Exchange 2k contacts issues

by ngunity . Updated 24 years, 4 months ago

Hello,

I need someone familiar with Win2k and Exchange 2k

My companies e-mail serving is outsourced so our mail domain e.g. ‘@mycompany.com.au’ is served from the internet.
Within our Head office all users have an internet mail account on the internet based mail server from which they download mail using POP. We run an Exchange server within Head office to store users mail, and to allow mailing within the office without leaving via the internet connection. We have setup users within theoffice using the same mail domain e.g. ‘@mycompany.com.au’ to the one that is served on the web to all of the companies staff. When we were running our Exchange on 5.5 we never had a problem, however since upgrading a server to Exchange 2K we have found that we cannot enter contacts with the ‘@mycompany.com.au’ domain and send to them, receiving this error: ” A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the message to bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients. Contact your administrator”

All Technet and Techrepublic answers have been tried without success. We need a decisive answer on whether or not what we’re doing can be done in Exchange 2k (as some sources say not) and if SO how?

thank you
e-mail me for further details
