I wanted to make sure that my server does not allow spam relaying. SO, under the IMC configuration for Routing, I checked the option Route only if client/host is authenticated.
Now, the problem I have is those using POP3 connections to my email server, cannot send emails to anyone that is not in the global list on the server. They will get a Error 550, relaying not allowed error even though I have the option “My server requires authentication” checked on, under Outgoing mail Server.
I have verified the setings for these POP3 users, and know their login names and passwords work fine. they can receive the emails, and send to those on the global list without problems. they just can’t send to email addresses on the outside.
