Exchange 5.5 Compaction

We are currently running Exchange 5.5, and I’ve noticed that the Priv.edb is around 14GB and our free space is getting low (850MB). It looks like I cold run the cmpaction and would free 1.1GB, however How much space would be required to run the compaction? Any Help would be great!
