Exchange 5.5 Delegate Question

By pricepd ·
I am having trouble configuring new delegates on my Exchange Server 5.5. I have existing users that this issue doesn't pertain to. If I try to assign delegate permissions to a user everything seems to work fine (no error messages), but when the user tries to view the mailbox or other folders they get an access is denied error.

I have confirmed that the users are assigned delegate permissions in exchange. Users who already had the permissions can navigate in the other users folders just fine. I am only having a problem with new delegations.

Any Ideas what I may be missing?

Preston

Exchange 5.5 Delegate Question

I've ran into this problem and here's what you can try. Check the top level folder permissions. There seems to be an issue, new or not I'm not sure, that even though delegation is properly assigning permissions to folders like the inbox it is not giving them permission to the "mailbox" as a whole so they can't get to the folders below. Setting permissions on the top folder will not override the permissions on the other folders and the individual should be given reviewer permissions. Should workthen.
