EXCHANGE 5.5 MX RECORD

By mndthegap1 ·
My exchange server crashed and had to be rebuilt. i restored it from a backup, the problem is i am unable to send or recieve external emails. In the mx record it is pointing to a proxy server ip address, but the proxy server was removed. How can i change the mx record to reflect the external ip address to my exchange server rather than the old proxy server?

The MX Record has to be determined on the NS (Domain Name Server), & You will have to reconfigure the IMS on your exchange box to point to the right host (you'll have to restart the Internet Mail Service after doing so) & furthermore the MX Record change on the NS Server will require 24 - 36 hours to go into effect.
