Exchange 5.5 on Windows 2000

By rteo30 ·
In a few months, all our servers will move to Windows 2000 base. Since my superviser asked my to build a new Exchange server on a new machine for replacing the old one. My plan is to go with Windows 2000, install Exchange server 5.5 on it, and do the join for the existing Exchange Organization. When the server is well tested. Dump the old Exchange server. Any good suggestion ?

Exchange 5.5 on Windows 2000

Your plan doesn't seem to have any apparent flaws in it. Exchange 5.5 certainly runs fine on Win2K. There is one thing to consider: if you plan to use Active Directory, then you will need to install the Active Directory Connector for Exchagne 5.5. You only need to do this if you plan to keep your user information in Active Directory.
