Exchange 5.5 on Windows 2000 Server

by jcherian39 . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

My situation….

When upgrading Windows NT to Windows 2K, the upgrade failed mid way due to the fact that I could not find the Hard Drive controller. Going back to NT was not possible due to the same reason. So… We did a fresh install of Windows 2000 which work. The only directory that the install over wrote was the WINNT directory.

No I have to reinstall either Exchange 5.5 or 2000. The exchange directory is still in tack for the last install, so my question is if I decide to install Exchange 2000 without installing Exhange 5.5 first, will the install take advantage of the data that is in the exchange directory or will it over write it.

Please help.
