Exchange 5.5 OWA errors

By ms7212 ·
I recently had to reinstall the entire exhcange 5.5 sever. It all works fine, except OWA. I have tried multiple things including what is on technet, but nothing is working. Before the reinstall I had the default document set to logon.asp and it worked fine. Now if I leave it as default.htm or default.asp, it gives not auth to see the page. If I change it to logon.asp, gives 404 file not found. Tried reinstalling only OWA three times. Even tried restoring from backup pre-reinstall. All the property settings seem fine. Help Please!

Exchange 5.5 OWA errors

If you are unable to see the site http://yourexchangeserver/exchange/logon.asp, then you need to make sure in IIS that your local path to logon.asp is set correctly and that you have no new security settings on the default web site. Also, make sure under directory security that anonymous access and basic authentication are checked unless this is an internal only site and you are using windows nt security. If that doesn't work, there are about 4 more things it could be.

Exchange 5.5 OWA errors

I did double check the paths. I even went as far to reinstall IIS and OWA again. Now getting 500.100 ASP error: Error Type:Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A01A
Object required: 'Application(...)' /exchange/USA/LOGON.asp, line 12. Did what MS says, but the only "in process application" is IISWAM.W3svc. I am not sure if this is the right one to delete or not since the name does not reference exchange. Ideas?

Hi were you able to figure out the solution?
I'm having the same problem and can't find the right way to solve it.
