Exchange 5.5 relaying problem

by chrish . Updated 25 years ago

I have exchange 5.5 sp3. I have several employees who work at the offices of a sister company and have email addresses there. We are on completly different systems. These employees currently have “custom accounts” here which have their other (actual)addresses as smtp addresses. I need the outside world to be able to send mail addressed to them here and have it relayed to the other system. I need to do this without tearing down my security and without using up licenses here on my server. At present in my routing tab I have “Reroute incoming SMTP mail” checked and in the routing restrictions table I added the IP and mask for the other email server under “Hosts and clients with these IP addresses”. To my knowledge this should be sufficient. Can anyone tell me why this isn’t working? Thank you
