Exchange 5.5 & Remote Connectivity

by azizhakim . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

Good Afternoon Exchange 5.5 Gurus.I have started this exchange project.PLEASE NOTE THIS IS STRICTLY A HOME PROJECT FOR STUDIES.Perhaps i am attempting too much but here it goes.I have 2 domain enviroment, trusts have been established.Exchange is up &running although this morning i had to remove wins on both domains & resorted to lmhost for name resolution. The reason being corrupted wins in one domain.the particular domain could not browse its own network,(PDC COULD NOT ACCESS USER MANAGER OR SERVER MANAGER,Although i could ping)everythig is visible now .Installed DNS server, installed IMS on Exchange, pointed to DNS etc.set up smtp on exchange.Just configured clients through outlook express.SMTP mail is ok.I have a proxy server on pdc in second domain(I have dial up right now-SLOW!!)I DOWNLOADED IT FROM analogx.com.My question is
every time any client who needs to go on internet i have to dial out from my server & open analogx application. Is there any way i can configure my outside connection to be enabled through thew client although my modem
is on server.IN ESSENCE COULD ANY CLIENTS TRIGGER SERVER MODEM,kinda like on demand dialing.I do not wish to be linked to isp when client do not need.I certainly hope i made some sense of this question? I will forward more comments after a few replies.Thanx in advance guys-aziz
