Exchange 5.5 Resources

By gskiaker ·
In Exchange server 5.5 I have several resources assigned to conference rooms, digital cameras, etc. I have the Primary Windows NT account set to the persons that are supposed to administer those resources. But only a few resources that I created a while back are working. When a user request a resource (from Outlook-2000/Calendar/New Meeting Requests) the request ends up in the resource mailbox, but are never forwarded to the person listed as the Primary account. This happens on any new resources I try to create. I also notice that if I look at the mailbox listing, the column under Windows NT Account, one of the administrator accounts is listed. But when I open the properties for the mailbox, the correct primary account is listed.
Anyone of the experts here has any ideas what could be wrong.

Thank you,

Exchange 5.5 Resources

Hi.

Firstly, don't worry about the account that comes up in the mailbox listing. This displays the last NT account that logged onto this mailbox. You will probably find that this account is the same one that you use for your backups.

The person assigned to look after the resouce needs to open the resource mailbox from Outlook. The other option is to set up a mail profile to look at the resource mailbox, and to set up an inbox rule which forwards all mail to the person doing the admin of the mailbox. The resources that are working will be doing one of the 2 things listed above.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
