We are having a problem with mail relaying. Our Exchange 5.5 installation is patched with service pack 4, and was so patched before the relaying began (about 1 week ago). We have followed the suggestions in articles on TechRepublic and the Microsoft Knowledge Base; we set to “do not reroute SMTP mail”, and also tried routing just to our internal domain. The relaying continues, and, we are now blacklisted on several sites.
Microsoft’s KB stated that, if you could apply the service packs and adjust the routing settings, then, registry changes did not need to be made. We made the changes through the routing tab, and, have not edited the registry.
Informed suggestions most welcome. This is a nasty situation and we are anxious to halt it.
Thank you.
