Exchange 5.5 users

I have a few users who were no longer with the company. I deleted these users from the Exchange Mail server (BDC) and delete their username from the PDC. Now the manager wants to check their email. I told them they were deleted. Is there a way to restore from the backup? How do I hide these users from global list?
