Exchange Backup using ArcServe

by techiehelp . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

Hi folks:

Just wondering if anybody knows how to get a good backup especially with Exchange server using ArcServe. I have five servers running a combo of Windows NT and Windows 2000. The ArcServe backup machine is running W2K Prof.
I have worked extensively with both Microsoft and ArcServe technicians to no avail…I ran a utility (isinteg and exeutil) with the MS techie, reinstalled/configured ArcServe and still no luck.

I have a good backup of my other servers, but not the Exchange Server. When a test backup is done on the brick-level w/o Norton Anti-Virus running on the Exchange box, the mailboxes are backed up w/o any problems.
However, the last time I ran another brick-level backup on a few mailboxes, I got the “cannot access file…..in named pipes” Is this unique to ArcServe/Exchange? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I just received a brochure from Syncsort, Inc. w/ info. on their backup product – Backup Express. Is anybody familiar with this product? Please let me know.
Thanks.
