Exchange Mailbox Messages

Can anyone tell me how to access the actual messages in an Exchange 5.5 mailbox. I am receiving messages (as per my pop connectorlog) but they are not showing up on any of the Outlook clients. Is there a tool I can use on the server or client to find them or access the IS directly.
