Exchange / NT external email

by lmc4whpc . Updated 24 years, 4 months ago

Am using Exchange 5.5 and Windows NT – both with all the service packs – and use Outlook for our internal and external email. When I add a new account to the I always struggle with getting the external email to funtion properly — it will receive and send internal, but only send external. I usually fumble along until I remember what I am forgetting to set up. Is there a way to make the smpt settings for external email delivery the default when setting up a new account through Exchange Administrator? And by the way if you can help me remember which piece I am forgetting, I’d appreciate it. I add the internet mail address with smtp as the value, then set as the reply address and it still won’t work. I’ll figure it out eventually, but any help is appreciated. Thanks!
