Exchange SBS 2003

By sharad.saggar ·
Got an SBS Exchange server which has reached its limit. The regisrtry hack is done, but still the Exchange will not mount. Got 17GB priv and 7GB of log files? Any ideas. I tried to install a copy of Exchange Enterprise on a Windows 2003 server but no luck

Disk space is not an issue - have over 100GB free disk space

Two things: have you tried an offline defragmentation of the database? Microsoft KB Article #192185 explains how to do this to free up space. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;192185

If that frees up enough space, you should then be able to move some of your files to the public folders, which has it's own 16GB limitation.

Hope that helps. If not let me know.

I did this when I knew the database was getting to 17GB, but this crashed the priv, and hence the problem. I have 17GB of priv and separately the log file but need to get them working together.

Along with installing your Exchange Enterprise, you need to purchase what they call a Transition pack, which unlocks SBS 2003. Above article from a forum I use often explains in more detail. Hope it helps!
