Exchange: Script to remove contents of a specific Public Folder?

By Mechanyx ·
I am looking for a way to script the annual deletion of contacts from an MS Exchange public folder that is automatically populated at regular intervals. I have found Powershell scripts that enable you to delete the folder and recreate it but I am more after deleting the contents to maintain the GUID of the folder.

Are there any ways to script this?

What you need to use is Outlook Redemption

It gives you a shed-load of resources to let you open stores and mailboxes - including public folders - and do just about anything with the contents. Most of the examples are for VB but it's a doddle to apply them to Powershell.

I use it for all of my Exchange management tasks where I need access to contents.

Neil :)
