Exchange security

I use Veritas backup software to backup my exchange server, But i am getting a message that my mailboxes my not been backup. If i try to go to any of the mailboxes i get a message “Access Denied’ How can I make sure that i am backing up all mailboxes and how can I hace access to the mailboxes????
