Exchange Server 2000

By David Shang ·
I installed Exchange Server 2000 with Windows 2000 Server, I can access to OWA from Internet, and receive mail from Internet, but I do not know how I can not sent mail out, I always get message:
"The e-mail system was unable to deliver the message, but did not report a spedific reason. Check the address and try again. If it still fails, contact your system administrator."
did I miss some setup ?
Thanks.

Can you browse the internet from the Exchange Server, or the Windows2000 Server? If you cannt it is a DNS issue. Make sure that the DNS server can forward queries to the Internet when resolving names.
Also you could configure a SMTP connector on the Exchange Server and supply a smarthost (mail relay server) address and let that server do all the work of deliverying mail.
