I am a novice with Exchange Server and none of my research seems to be getting the answer that I need, so I hope someone can help.
I have a domain set up with Exchange Server 2003. We are using the POP3 Connector to retrieve email which is hosted externally for us at “ourdomain.org” All email sending and receiving works fine for the local users with the exception of email that they want to send to “Branch@ourdomain.org”. This is a user whose email is also hosted externally but whose physical office is offsite. Messages are trapped by the Exchange Server and returned with “Account does not exist” error.
What must I do to configure the Exchange Server to send this email onward instead of assuming it is for a local user?
