My exchange server hangs abruptly one fine morning which happens atleast alomst once a month with a error message “Dr. Watson Error …. Access Voilation …STORE.EXE”
I am running the Exchange server 5.5 on a WIN NT server with service pack 5. This is a dedicated MAIL server with access to 16 concurent clients(All licensed). The server is a Compaq Prosignia 486 AT Compatible with a memory of 105,912KB.
The problem when this error occurs is that The Internet mail services stop automatically and refuses to start giving a reason that one of the dependent services failed which I am not sure which one it is.
The only way I solve this problem is by re installing the NT and Exchange or restoring the whole from backup tapes. Does any one know a better or professional way out and why this is happening. The volume is NTFS with more than 1.16GB Free diskspace.
