Exchange Server 5.5 Directories

By Andy Bettoni ·
As all You know, Exchange Server put incoming messages in temporary files in the directory c:\exchsrvr\imcdata\in\archive. All these files are never deleted. As the mail messagges reaches user, these files are still necessary to the system? Can I delete these files in order to recover disk space?
Thanking You in advance,
Sincerely.
Andrea Bettoni

Andrea,

Yes, you can safely delete those files. If you don't want future ones archived you can turn off Message Archival for the IMS (it's in the Diagnostic Logging section). You need to restart the IMS for the logging change to take effect (if you change it).
