Hi I have a exchange server set up at a office the owner wanted to be able to access the exchange server from her home so i set up on her home computer (Windows XP) the host file with the address and hostname of the server so i got that all working fine and it has been working for the last year
A month ago someone else was looking at her computer and server and did something that now when she tries to open outlook at home she gets timed out i try to do \\0.0.0.0 and it lets me in the server but if i put down \\hostname which is in the host file fine it doesnt come up it times out
When i go in Dos and ping the hostname and the ip it pings them fine and it works fine but wheni try to do \\hostname it dont
I tried to do it in 3 different locations and it does the same thing no matter what computer im on so im guessing its a problem at the office
Ok here is the office situation
I went over there check the dns number in teh router and everything and its all ok just to be on the safe side i ut in a new router and a new modem and still the same thing now i tried \\0.0.0.0 ip address at my house and it dont work but if i use radmin which i use for remote administration it lets me in fine from anywhere with the ip address
If i go in the browser and do http://0.0.0.0/exchange it lets me in to web access it sends me to the redirect url i put in fine
Ok so im completely going crazy here i cant figure out whats going on i tried to use a network scanner with the ip address and it resolved the name and it found ports 25,110,21,22,80,119,143,389,443,522 open i have the server as DMZ host ok also when i use my network scanner (CFI languard network Scanner) it says NETBIOS/SMB is not enabled on this computer which im guessing might be a problem
please let me know any sugestions to fix this
