    Exchange Server Backup

    Locked

    by singhjunk ·

Is there anyway that I can setup a backup exchange server so that incase my primary exchange server goes down we don’t loose much time and get the other server going and user don’t even feel the difference. I would highly appericate if it is possible please provide me details or links at which I can have a look. Do I have to make anychanges in firewall for the Backup exchange server to work and get e-mails from the net to and fro.

    Thanks

wait for exchange 2000 and setup clustering, the current clustering for exchange is a waste of resources, because is an active/pasive setup, where exchange 2000 is an active/active cluster setup. If you try to just setup another exchange server as a different site ther is no way to keep both in sync.

Active/Active is really a great idea but is it okay to go for Exchange 2000 and does that need Windows 2000 to work.

        Thanks,
