test from the outside

by netwrk_admn In reply to exchange server problem

Open a telnet session and connect to your Exchange server from an outside source. That will help determine the health of your network settings.

If that doesnt work, it could obviously mean many things down the line, but it's a good test for connectivity. Your exchange server may also have static ips set for your default gateway and if your router's IP has changed that would be a cause. Again, many things, hope you get it fixed!

New installed router is it a gateway router ? if yes did you open port for SMTP ? if yes did u NAT SMTP ip with public IP ? if yes is the DNS port open on your firewall/gateway router for both UDP and TCP ?
