Exchange Site Connectors

In ex5.5 I have a site connector to a sister
site. Installing ADC so I can add an ex.2000 server into the ex.5.5 site.

Does the site connector remain intact between the
5.5 servers or will I need to create a new site connector once I install the ADC.
