    Exchange sites-Address Space

    Locked

    by eranf ·

Suppose I have 2 connected Exchange sites(A and B) within the same organization. The MX record for the domain: company.com is pointing to server A1 in site A. Therefore server A1 will receive all the incoming SMTP mail from the internet.

All the company world wide employees use the email format: user@company.com
By default, on the Mail Service connector the SMTP addresses are user@SITEA.company.com and user@SITEB.company.com . (Yet only the user@company.com format is publicly known)

    1. How does server A1 knows to route an incoming SMTP email message when the recipient’s mail bob located on server B2? (example: the email for user-at-server-b@company.com will arrive first to server A1)

    2. How do I need to reconfigurethe SMTP Address Space?

    Thanks in advance

Off the Routing Tab of of the Internet Mail connector you can specify the domains to accept and route internally if you have a trust relation existing between the two sights.

exchange Server A has all the incoming E-mail, exchange server B is a member server in a remote site but it is part of the same domain. How do I route mail from A to B? where the mailboxes reside in B?

        Please help
