Exclude My documents on roaming profile

by josep_m . Updated 24 years, 6 months ago

On a precedent question:

On a domain with roaming profiles, the folder “My documents” follow the user from Server to Client, and is copied on local folder “Documents and Settings”. When the user log off, the files go back to Server.
I want thatthe user can access to his documents on Server, but the files are not copied to local machine.
I have users with 500 MB of files, and the time for log on/log off is too large.
How can obtain this?

And nbcasey@pier1.com answer:

You have twooptions, redirect the folder like the above posts,(user config>windows settings>folder redirection>my docs. Get properties on it and for the settings, choose Basic, for the root path enter “\\server\%username%\my documents” or whatever fits your setup. The second choice is user config>administrative templates>system>logon/logoff>Exclude directories in roaming profile. Enable it and enter in My Documents. The policy could be found in user config>admin templates>system>user profiles if you used the XP tools to build the policy.

I have a problem: some users are OK (they change “My documents” to server folder) but some others not! All the users are into OU

Why happen this?
