I work for a really small company (I am the only billable employee for services). I currently have an offer from a competitor to go to work for them. The situation is complicated in that my boss works for a very large software company and has started a services business on the side (my current job). I have worked for this guy first at the large software company and now in this services company for close to five years now.
My issue is this, I am afraid that he will use his connections at the large software company to possibly block or potentialy sabotage my new job at the other company. I know some potentially damaging information about him that the large software company would be interested in. I have no wish to destroy his career but am merely concerned about a possible backlash upon leaving. What would you do to ensure a “safe” exit strategy?
