Explorer Does Not Display Date Column

By GD125962 ·
I'm using Windows 98 and recently Explorer does not display the date column when you choose detail view. The other columns appear fine (name, size, type, attributes).

Explorer Does Not Display Date Column

2 things. First -

According to article Q241380 on microsoft.com's technet, it states that :-

When you click the View tab in the Folder Options dialog box, the Show File Attributes in Detail View option may not appear in the Advanced Settings box.

Check the rest of that article on Microsoft.com by doing a search on the article number.

Second - it may be possible you have inadvertantly dragged the Date/Modified view column closed, thus closing the displayed information from view. Inthis case try stretching the markers out again.

Hope this helps,

Andy

Here?s a suggestion from MS:

?To work around this behavior, click in the right pane, and then press CTRL+PLUS SIGN (make sure to use the PLUS SIGN key on the numeric keypad).
This sets the columns on the header bar to use a minimal amount of space. You can change the width of the columns by dragging the vertical bars located between the column names.?
