Explorer Errors when I click on “Start”

by mrfletchernz . Updated 24 years, 9 months ago

Hi there,
My son was playing on the PC and something happened (of which he doesn’t know what happened)
If you try to click on the Start button, an error appers saying that Explorer has caused an error in Kernel32.dll and sometimes an error in shlwapi.dll

I get the same thing if I click on my Windows Explorer shortcut on the desktop. I can get in using My Computer, but once in there can’t get as far as C:\Windows\Start Menu without it crashing.
I’ve got Win Me, P3, 96mb ram

I have tryed deleting my win386.swp file – didn’t make any difference. Try Windows Me system restore back to two different restore points and it came back and said “No chnages have been made”

I’m stuck and frustrated.

Can anyone please help.

Cheers

Mr Fletch
