Explorer.exe error while searching

The OS is Win 2000 and when the user try to
start search (search for files and folders – Windows exploer) an error appears “Explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created. ”

I tryed all the Microsoft solutions like
installing service pack 2 and removing unwanded softwares which is installed by the user and still no luck.

Any solutions !!, thanks in advance.
