How can I export the Active Directory to a csv or xsl file?

Well, if you just need to export user or machine or group membership information, you can use a tool called Dameware NT Utilities. I use it, and it is fabulous!
Dameware (which does work on Active Directory) can export Computer, Disk Drive, Groups,Printers, Group Memberships, Services, Shares and/or User information to tab-delimited text files. You can then pull these files into Excel, parse and sort and make all kinds of reports. It does make auditing easy.

There is a Microsoft utility called "CSVDE.EXE" you can use to export and import users from Active Directory in and from CSV formats. The following link will help give some help about the utility; CSVDE help is also available in Windows built-in help
