I have a few suggestions:

Open ISA Management

1) Under Monitoring Configuration/Logs, right click on a component, Select File and Choose W3C extended log file format. This is tab delimited and you can open this on excel (on import wizard, select delimited, and tab).

2) You may not read the log file in its raw format. you can schedule a report job under Monitoring configuration/Report Job to generate for you summarized reports based on the log files. You can view these reports under Monitoring/Reports.

3) You can create a SQL or Access database with the fields you want to have in your log. Instead of selecting a File for Log storage format, you can insert it into a database. You can use this database for special queries.

hopethis helps.

Btw, for #3, you must have pre-created the database with tables that contains the fields that corresponds to the fields that are being logged. Then you must use the ODBC Data source administrator (located under controll panel/administrative tools) to create a DSN associated with your access database. Supply the DSN Name, Table name, and account in the ISA server (log component) properties.

What I need to get is possibly a program that can go one step further and provide formatting and search functions as well. Thanks Again

if you are able to export the ISA data into an Access database or even excel (after import from a tab-delimited text file), it is easy to create a program (for access) or macro (for excel) that can do the search. from access, you can even generate areport from access or change formatting in excel. but that would be another question on programming....
