    EXPORTING MAILS FROM INCREDIMAIL TO OE

    I am hoping you can help me !!!

    I have followed the instructions listed on (http://email.about.com/cs/incredimailtips/qt/et012403.htm ) but still have problems !!

    The problem is : After I drag the .eml files to the outlook Express Folder ( say the Inbox) , they look fine for a moment,BUT the minute I navigate AWAY from the Outlook Express Inbox ( For example If I click on the SENT Box and then go back to the INBOX), all the emails in the INBOX of OE are GONE!!!!

    Really appreciate your help !

      try just copying the contents of the documents and setting\$username$\application data\incredimail\mail\
      ( I think it’s mail, but it’s the folder that has a file called inbox in it. )
      over to the outlook express folder that has the same file names.

      incredimail is a skinned version of oe, with maybe 5 plugins that oe doesn’t have. the format for the files ( email folders ) is the same, and is a corrupted html format.

        For some odd reason the emails still disppear when I navigate away from the OE folder . I have a feeling a second copy of Outlook Express or something else is running in the
        background and accessing my mail store ………. any ideas what I should do ?

      If you have email already in OE, you will want to create new folder(s) to hold the IncrediMail files.

      Navigate to the OE data store location (search for inbox.dbx, usually in C:\Documents and Settings\”username”\application data\Identities\{XXXXXXXX}\Microsoft\Outlook Express”) and note that the name of the new folder is either the name you gave it – or, depending on your OE version, will have a name such as “folder#.dbx” where the # is automatically given as you add new folders.

      Locate your IncrediMail .dbx files(most likely in “C:\Documents and Settings\”username”\application data\incredimail\mail\”, rename it(them) to match the name(s) of your “new” OE dbx and then just copy that file over the “new” OE file.

      When you open OE, you’ll find all of your emails in the new folder!
