Extention filters?

By k.dietrich ·
When running different graphics programms I find it annoying to have to change the file extentions to suit the programm. Is there such a thing as a filter or patch to help with this?
Thanks

I dont think there is a filter or patch of this type yet, unless you can write one up.

Windows will only let you reassociate file extensions whenever you need to change to different programs.

I recieved this suggestion from another reader:
UTILITY: MultiLaunch
Lets you associate more than one application with a file extension. It is a
Windows 95 shell extension that you access through a file's context menu-the
menu that pops up when you right-click on its icon.

To change which program starts when you open a file

In My Computer or Windows Explorer, on the View menu, click Folder Options.
Click the File Types tab.
In the list of file types, click the one you want to change.
Click Edit.
In Actions, click Open.
Click Edit.
In Application used to perform action, enter the program you want to use to open files that have this extension, and then click OK.
Note
The settings for selected file types are shown in File type details.

You should also be able to click on new when editing a filetype and add another OPEN command and associate another program to open files of that type. You can set one of the apps to be the default apps to open the file.
