External Chassis Fan

By BorgInva ·
Does anyone know of a trusted place I can find a 90/92mm case fan that will sit on the outside of a chassis? Looking for something funky with lights and not just a plain black one.
Thw reason is because my new chassis came with a fan on the top, but inside the chassis of course. The power supply I got prevents the fan from being use within the chassis. So I am looking for an alternative to this.
Thanks.

Almost any fan will mount outside. Recommend using machine screws and hex nuts (8-32 x 1 1/4 work well) to fasten fan. Also use a fan guard.

Ensure that fan is blowing out (check direction arrow).

There are many reputable vendors. One that has a good selection is directron.com.

As Dalton said almost any fan will do the job but if you want one with lights I find the Antec ones are very good as they just keep on keeping on but when they get dirty the light levels diminish.

If it is going to be outside the case you must fit a fan guard one of the wire ones as these do not restrict the air flow and do not make any noise like the pressed metal ones do and again as Dalton said have it blowing out from the case so it is sucking air out of the case.
