I have an HP Emv1015n laptop and an external USB2 hard drive. It’s actually a normal PC 160GB hard drive in an external case with power supply etc which I bought in a PC shop. It works fine on my other two PCs but on this laptop (which I use for video editing it keeps dropping the connection to the hard drive screwing up my editing. After an undefined period of time the hard drive disconnects then either reconnects by iteself or stays disconntected.
How can I fix the laptop so it retains the connection to the ext hard drive?
