Ok, so I have an external harddrive I used with my old PC that used XP. I now have a new laptop running VISTA. Once plugged in it is recognized, works for a few minutes ( I am able to access all files) then suddenly an error pops up saying the device is not recognized.
I have tried deleting the file posted in another forum (INFCACHE1) and the only thing this did was come up with the error quicker when I plugged it back in.
Not a power supply problem as it has its own power supply other than the USB connection. Ive also tried to use it on another XP system and it is not recognized at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
