OK,First what type of HD controller do you have? If is SCSI here's what to do:
1. Make sure the SCSI card will work with win 95 and you have the driver downloaded for the jazz and zip drives.
2. Check the settings on the HD and check to see what SCSI device number its assigned. If available, change the HD SCSI device to 2.
3. Assign the jazz drive to SCSI device 0 and make sure that the drive is not terminated, then assign the zip drive to device 1 again make sure the zip drive is notterminated.
4. If either the jazz or the zip drive must be terminated then you will need to unterminate the HD. Now on to the harder one..
If your HD controller is IDE, you will need to check and make sure that you don't have an irq conflict with the SCSI card. Check IRQ settings on both controllers and change on of them to another IRQ. Then proceed as above EXCEPT either the jazz or the zip drives will have to be terminated and the SCSI device will have to change to 0 and 1 (device 1 should be terminated).
1. Make sure that your Parallel Zip is connected directly to your Parallel port with NOTHING in between but the cable. 2. Set your printer connection in the system bios to EPP to insure two way communication. 3. Make sure that your Zip Drive isa parallel drive and not a SCSI drive. The SCSI drive has switches in the rear and the Parallel drive does not. 4. Ensure that your Printer cable will support full two way communications. 5. Check the Control panel/system/devices for errors andto verifythat drive letters are correctly assigned (eg a different letter for each) 6. Still having problems email me to set up a telecom call.
the Parallel Zip Drive will show as a SCSI device. I would recommend that you install the SCSI external 1gb card and then let windows detect it then install the drives for the card and devuce connected. Then restart your computer then follow the installation instructions for the Parallel Zip drive and then hook it up and then install the drives for the drive and restart the computer. This should fix your problem. I hope this helps you out
Seen this, It seems that the IOMEGA drivers have a problem with BOTH scsi and parallel. If you have access to a SCSI Zip, that's the way to go. I've found that the USB Zip also works with a SCSI Jaz. If you are trying to use the Jaz traveler parallel port SCSI with a zip on the pass through, it may work for 5 minutes and then crash horribly.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
