Any external modem i use on an optima pc running windows 2000 keeps forgetting i have set it to autoanswer on 3 rings. after writing the s0=3 and doing a at&w0 or at&w1 to save profiles. i then recheck the modem with at&v. the default as well as both profiles have S0=3. i ring the modem a few times and it will work. give it a few hours on its own and it stops autoanswer. tried 3 different brands of modem, all the same story! anyhelp would be greatly apprciated, its driving me insane! have also tried 2 swap phone cable, and got telstra to check the phone line (i live in australia)telstra say phone line is ok
