Hi.
On Friday I used my laptop a Dell XPS M1210 in a presentation on a large monitor display, just plugged into VGA port and it worked. Since then however I have been having problems with my usual external display. Normally I just plug the external display in (a VGA 19″ Acer monitor) and it works fine. Now I plug it in and it works, but every 5 minutes or so the screen goes blank and the monitor seems to be running a quick search for external monitors. The screen flashes and and off on the laptop screen and the external, then comes on and it rights itself – back to normal external display. Needless to say this is annoying as the screen blanks out for about 10 secs every 5 minutes and I am also worried it will blow the screen doing this.
I am using Windows Vista.
Any suggestions?
