External print server?

By danieljokinen ·
I'm looking for a solution that would allow me as a service provider to host the drivers of my customers printers, i.e I would like to install their printer in their network and point to the driver over the internet to my print server.

There's a solution called Cirrato that will let you do that. But, it will not let me host the drivers of several different customers, just one per server.

Does anyone know of any other solutions for this?

On the Ricoh and also Toshiba printers, when you go to the web interface, you can set certain links. I have set up those links to go directly to the download site of the specific drivers. If your service has a web interface, you can set links to other printers/computers. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for...

I'm looking for a way to replace the local installation of driver files, to be precise. Instead of installing the printer through the local print server I'd like to install it through an external print server so that the print queue is held on "the other side of the internet" if you see my point. I suspect this has to be done with IPP, but as far as I know there's no complete solution for this.
